One more film inspired by Bram Stoker’s bloodsucker will hit theaters this summer.
The Invitation–a horror film that went by The Bride the last time Horror News Network reported on it–is slated for a theatrical release Aug. 26, according to a report on slashfilm.com.
The Screen Gems film–said to be inspired by the Dracula legends–has been shrouded in secrecy so far, but what is known is that it purports to be a “contemporary thriller that tells the story of a young woman invited to a lavish wedding in England–only to realize her presence there has sinister motivations,” according to the logline.
The Invitation–directed by Jessica M. Thompson (The Light of the Moon) from a screenplay by Blair Butler (Helstrom)–stars Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones), Thomas Doherty (Legacies), Hugh Skinner (The Windsors), Sean Pertwee (Dog Soldiers), Courtney Taylor (Insecure), Alana Boden (I Am Elizabeth Smart) and Stephanie Corneliussen (Mr. Robot).
